Gary Neville has said once again that while Arsenal target Declan Rice is a quality player, the reported £120 million price for him is excessive.
As recently on as on Thursday, the Sky pundit went as far as to say that the England international is worth £50- £60 million.
Once again, Gary Neville has said that as brilliant as Arsenal-linked midfielder Declan Rice is, he is not a £120 million player.
Gary Neville reiterates that Arsenal target Declan Rice is overpriced
Interestingly, it has previously been claimed that Mikel Arteta himself believes that the 24-year-old would provide elite competition to Thomas Partey at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Gary Neville strongly believes that as well as Arsenal target Declan Rice has performed over the past couple of years, he does not command a £120 million splurge.
“‘Doesn’t score enough.’ He has the same amount of league goals as ‘the best’ Casemiro and Rodri but you won’t hear criticism for them not scoring enough because it doesn’t fit your agenda”, West Ham Transfers said to the Manchester United legend on Twitter.
However, Gary Neville replied to the page about the Arsenal target saying, “I get that but they aren’t being quoted at £120 million. I like Declan Rice a lot but the price tag is too great for that position without goals and assists.”
In our view: Gary Neville is right
While Roy Keane and Simon Jordan have also criticised the £100-£120 million fee attached to Declan Rice, who has been rumoured to join Arsenal in the summer, Gary Neville is certainly right about the fact that a box-to-box midfielder should not be commanding such a high fee.
There is no questioning that Rice could perhaps even become the best defensive-minded midfielder in Europe one day.
But it would be smarter for any club to spend a British-record fee on a player that is perhaps more attack-minded.
