Simon Jordan has said that he agrees with Roy Keane, who suggested that Arsenal target and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is overrated as well as overpriced.

The Manchester United legend typically stole the headlines ahead of his former side’s 3-1 win against the Hammers in the FA Cup about the £62,000-a-week man not being worth the exorbitant fees or the hype that surrounds him.

Simon Jordan, who is also known to be partial to a hot take agrees with Roy Keane about Declan Rice, with Arsenal even reportedly planning to recruit Jack Wilshere, who is known to be pals with the Irons captain to make a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Even Gunners icon Ian Wright labelled the 24-year-old as ‘superb’, while Mikel Arteta is reportedly confident that a deal will be done.

However, Simon Jordan has said that he agrees with Roy Keane about Arsenal target Declan Rice being both overrated and as a result, overpriced on talkSPORT, “I don’t think he’s at the level people put him at. He’s a very good player. I have the same view. I think they [West Ham] packaged Declan Rice up to such a level that they’re convincing people that he’s worth £100 million plus.”

“Roy Keane, sometimes can veer into the territory of pantomime villain but when he gets into the territory of talking about things that are explicitly in his area of expertise, which is central midfield players, who is going to have the temerity to suggest he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s absolutely on the money.”

“He’s not a £100 million footballer. He’s a very, very good, tidy, very, very well-built footballer. But he’s a long way away from what people have built him up to be.

“My point is, and to some extent Roy Keane’s point is, although it’s slightly more about his performance in recent times and not his overall performance is that he’s not at that level currently. I don’t think he’s at that level full stop.”

Ultimately, it all depends on whether Arsenal agree with both Roy Keane and Simon Jordan about Declan Rice and based on all transfer speculation, it would be safe to assume the answer is no.
