Arsenal transfer news: Napoli chief addresses Khvicha Kvaratskhelia future

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has stated that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is ‘not on the market’. But he leaves the door open for the Arsenal transfer target to leave one day.

The Azzurri have no intention of letting the 22-year-old leave the Serie A side over the next summer sales. Kvaratskhelia only joined Napoli from Dinamo Batumi last July for a bargain £10m. Now, he is one of the leading lights of their push toward a first Scudetto since 1990.

Kvaratskhelia has offered 10 goals and 11 assists through 19 Italian top-flight appearances so far this season. He has also offered two goals and four assists in six Champions League outings. The winger laid on an assist to help to a 2-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday.

Kvaratskhelia is captivating clubs, including Arsenal, since his transfer to Napoli

No other Napoli player has provided more than eight assists across all competitions so far this season. While only Victor Osimhen outscores Kvaratskhelia for Luciano Spalletti’s side with 20 goals. Their Serie A exploits also have the Azzurri sitting 15 points clear at the top.

Kvaratskhelia has also captivated an array of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, with Napoli since his transfer last summer. 90min reports that the Gunners are scouting the 6ft dynamo. But the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona outfit value him at in excess of £100m.

Along with Arsenal, the Daily Mail notes that Manchester City are monitoring Kvaratskhelia in view of a transfer with Napoli. While Calciomercato notes that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur like the winger ‘a lot’. The Times also reports he thrills Newcastle United’s scouts.

Giuntoli has no interest in letting Kvaratskhelia leave the Azzurri anytime soon

Further reports by 90min have also cited interest at Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. The La Liga and Ligue 1 giants have also instructed their talent spotters to keep an eye on his efforts. But Giuntoli has no interest in letting Kvaratskhelia leave Napoli anytime soon.

“How much is he worth? He likes to talk about concrete things,” Giuntoli has told Sport Mediaset. “He’s not on the market at the moment, then I don’t know how much he’ll be worth. Time will tell what he’ll do in the future.

“He’s a great player and we hold on to him, then we’ll see what the future will say.”
