David Moyes wants West Ham United to go for Sergej MIlinkovic-Savic amid claims that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal fancy the Lazio star.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Milinkovic-Savic is now at the top of West Ham’s list for a summer move.
West Ham are viewing Milinkovic-Savic as a top replacement for Declan Rice, who is expected to move on this summer.
Moyes’ trusted lieutenant Alan Irvine was sent to watch Milinkovic-Savic last week and has been feeding back information on the Serbian.
Milinkovic-Savic is into the final 18 months of his contract at Lazio and there is a belief that West Ham could actually do this deal.
The 27-year-old is a big name but the top clubs have been overlooking him in recent years, possible because of Lazio’s huge asking price.
Moyes could now swoop in and finally offer Milinkovic-Savic a move to the Premier League – but he could face competition from Arsenal.

West Ham face Arsenal battle for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Reports from Italy earlier this month suggested that Milinkovic-Savic had changed his mind about a potential move to Arsenal.
It was claimed that Milinkovic-Savic wasn’t so keen over the summer but Arsenal’s form this season has changed his mind.
Milinkovic-Savic seems keen on a move to Arsenal but the Gunners may have other targets in mind.
One of them – somewhat ironically – appears to be West Ham star Declan Rice.
Rice heading to Arsenal may open the door for Milinkovic-Savic to replace him at West Ham.
The Hammers do though have to worry about losing Rice to Arsenal and then seeing Milinkovic-Savic elsewhere.
Milinkovic-Savic is also a little more attack-minded than Rice and doesn’t exactly seem to be a like-for-like replacement.
West Ham have shown ambition with the signings of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca, with Milinkovic-Savic arguably an even bigger coup if they can somehow pull it off.
