Antonio Conte has praised young midfielder Pape Matar Sarr after his impact for Tottenham Hotspur against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Tottenham claimed a much-needed win on Wednesday night as they beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Harry Kane scored twice to set Tottenham on their way before Matt Doherty and Son Heung-min added to the scoreline.
Scoring first is a rarity for Tottenham fans this season but a 4-0 win? Few could have really seen that coming based on recent form.
Conte needed a big victory and he got one, hopefully sparking an upturn in form for the second half of the season.

Conte praises Tottenham talent Pape Matar Sarr
This was a big night for a couple of young Tottenham players.
Bryan Gil enjoyed a fine performance as he deputised for Dejan Kulusevski on the right side of Tottenham’s attack.
Midfielder Pape Matar Sarr then made just his second Premier League appearance as he came off the bench.
Sarr replaced Oliver Skipp with about 25 minutes to play and the Senegal international made a big impact.
Sarr was effective protecting his defence, covered ground so quickly to press Palace and then get back into position, and kept the ball moving really well.
Signed from Metz in 2021, Sarr spent last season back on loan with the French club but is now back in North London and ready to make an impact.
It has taken a while for Sarr to get a chance – and it is partly because both Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur were out against Palace.
Still, Sarr took that chance and we will surely see much more of him in the near future.
Tottenham boss Conte has offered praise for Sarr, telling Football London that the young midfielder offered a ‘good answer’ with Bentancur and Bissouma out of action.
Conte added that Sarr proved that he is a ‘really reliable’ player when called upon, a clear indication that there will be many more appearances to come.
Fabio Paratici paid around £14.5million to sign Sarr in 2021 and fans will hope to see him justify that fee in the coming months and years.
