Inter Milan are now moving to tie up the free transfer of Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram. He is also a target of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for a Bosman deal.
That is according to Calciomercato, which reports Inter Milan fear failing to sign Thuram as a free agent. The Nerazzurri have been working to take the forward to Serie A for the past few months and have a verbal agreement. But San Siro chiefs are yet to put one on paper.
Inter Milan see Thuram as their top target with Romelu Lukaku likely to return to Chelsea after his loan transfer. Joaquin Correa also faces an uncertain future, which can leave Edin Dzeko as their sole striker. So, failing to land Thuram’s move may prove to be catastrophic.

Nerazzurri chiefs have spoken with Thuram’s representatives on several occasions to test the waters for his services. The forward is receptive to the move to San Siro, as well. While a loose agreement is in place on a €10m-a-year (£170k-a/w) gross wage including bonuses.
Now, Inter Milan hope to put the deal on paper to sign Thuram to a pre-contract ahead of his free transfer. The 25-year-old is out of contract with Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of this season. But his signature also interests several sides in England, Italy and Spain.

Inter Milan must fight Arsenal and Tottenham for Thuram’s free transfer
AC Milan and Juventus also want to take Thuram to Italy. While his father, Lilian Thuram, is keen for the forward to take up Barcelona’s offer and follow in his footsteps at Camp Nou. So, Inter Milan are moving to beat out their rivals and hope, above all, to thwart Juventus.
But Milan Live has also credited Arsenal, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace with an interest in a free transfer for Borussia Monchengladbach star Thuram. AS also reports Tottenham want to rival Atletico Madrid for a deal. While Foot Mercato note Thuram has rejected Chelsea.
Reports by ESPN also note Atletico Madrid fear Thuram will favour a transfer to England or Bayern Munich. Arsenal, Tottenham and their Premier League rivals are all keen on his free transfer with Thuram offering Borussia Monchengladbach 13 goals in 20 outings this term.
