German outlet Kicker have reported that Everton are set to face competition from Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Dennis Geiger in the summer.
Sean Dyche’s men have been linked with the Hoffenheim midfielder for a past couple of months but the player himself played down a potential switch to Goodison Park, saying he was ‘in talks’ to sign a new contract. Well, an extension is yet to have been signed by the German, who could leave on a free transfer in the summer.
While that is brilliant news for Everton in their pursuit for Dennis Geiger, Eintracht Frankfurt are set to pose a serious threat to their intentions to sign him.
Everton set to compete with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Dennis Geiger
A No.6 by trade, the 24-year-old could add a sense of control and defensive solidity to the Toffees midfield, who was likened to Joshua Kimmich by Sandro Wagner on the Bundesliga website, if he is tempted by a move to the Premier League.

As per a new report by Kicker, while Everton are one of the many clubs interested in signing Dennis Geiger, Eintracht Frankfurt are one of the several Bundesliga teams showing ‘great interest’ as well, considering his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
The Merseyside-based club have reportedly been interested in the player since 2019, which explains the long-time interest mentioned in the report, who was also a Pep Guardiola target at Man City, as per Sport 1.
Everton will find it tough to beat a Champions League club to sign the German
It’s simple: Everton are languishing in 18th place in the Premier League, while Eintracht Frankfurt are 5th in the Bundesliga whilst being in the Round of 16 in the Champions League, which makes it rather simple for Dennis Geiger to decide which club to join.
The former are also one of the worst-run clubs in England, which makes them such a tough sell to any talented player across Europe.
