As per the latest information provided by Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo, there is a release clause in the contract of Brighton & Hove Albion boss, Roberto De Zerbi worth £11.5 million (€13 million).

It is rather uncommon for managers to have such clauses in their contracts, as they tend to be associated with players, and especially some of the very best, or talented, such as Ansu Fati’s, which is reportedly worth a whopping £892 million.

But in some senses, the ‘extraordinary’ manager, as Mikel Arteta referred to him via BBC Sport is perhaps the club’s biggest asset.

Roberto De Zerbi has a release clause in Brighton contract

As a result, in some senses, it comes as no surprise that there is a release clause in place in the contract of Roberto De Zerbi worth £11.5 million, who took over as Graham Potter’s replacement.

That’s according to an exclusive revelation by Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo.

However, to ease the nerves that certain Seagulls fans must be feeling, it would be a shock to say the least to see the £104,000-a-week man leave the club for the time being at least.

Top clubs will keep a close eye on the release clause

It’s simple: Roberto De Zerbi is doing a phenomenal job at Brighton and keeping that in mind, a number of top European sides will be aiming to trigger his release clause some day.

Despite having the impossible job of taking over from club legend Graham Potter, the ex-Sassuolo head coach has done so successfully, with his side now also bagging goals for fun.

With Jurgen Klopp undergoing a nightmarish spell at Liverpool, Real Madrid struggling under soon-to-be-retiring Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola potentially out of the door if Man City are found guilty of breaching the Premier League’s financial regulations, they could come knocking for the next best up-and-coming thing in the market.

However, Brighton will receive a heavy sum if a club pays the release clause to try appointing Roberto De Zerbi.
