Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:34pm, February 5, 2023) that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season, not Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The former Liverpool defender made the comments after Manchester City suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this past weekend.
Arsenal also lost their league game, going down 1-0 to Everton at Goodison Park.
Mikel Arteta’s side remain five points clear of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
Arsenal have a game in hand as well.
Jamie Carragher on Arsenal v Manchester City title race
Carragher said: “I just slightly say the edge with Arsenal. I actually think they have been the most impressive team until now.”

Who will win the title?
In our view, Arsenal are the favourites at this moment in time to win the Premier League title this season, not Manchester City.
Yes, City have the best squad in the Premier League, but they are not at their best at the moment.
Arsenal are playing well and are at the top of the league table.
Yes, City have been here before, but there is no guarantee that Arsenal will suffer a collapse in the coming weeks.
Now, of course, Arsenal will drop points, but so will City.
After all, they could not win against Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Erling Haaland was anonymous.
