Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has raved about Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli on Instagram.
Martinez, who left Arsenal for Aston Villa in the summer of 2020, is pleased to see the Gunners hand Martinelli a new deal.
Earlier today, Arsenal announced on their official website that the 21-year-old Brazil international forward has put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
The Sun journalist Daniel Cutts has reported on Twitter that Martinelli will now earn £180,000 per week as salary at the Gunners.
The Brazilian is one of the best young players in the world and has established himself as a key figure in the Arsenal first team.
The Arsenal no. 11 has scored seven goals and given two assists in 19 Premier League matches so far this season.
Martinelli has also made three starts and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this campaign.
The 21-year-old has scored 18 goals and created 14 big chances in 76 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
