Jamie O’Hara has given his say on why Pedro Porro is a brilliant signing for Tottenham Hotspur, as he looks set to secure a deadline day switch.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano had reported on Monday that a transfer is all but confirmed.

Considering Antonio Conte’s biggest priority was widely reported to be a right wing-back, the Spaniard seems to be fit the bill, since catching the eye at Sporting CP.

As a result, Jamie O’Hara, who is a vocal supporter of Tottenham is all smiles by the prospect of Pedro Porro joining the club.

With Matt Doherty flattering to deceive during his time at the club, Djed Spence being out of contention and Emerson Royal yet to truly impress, the signing of one of the most talented young right wing-backs in Europe is a reason for any Spurs fan to be overjoyed.

Jamie O’Hara gives verdict on Pedro Porro to Tottenham

Jamie O’Hara initially discussed how it seemed as if Pedro Porro to Tottenham was off, in conversation with Sky Sports News.

“Again, it’s a bit of a disaster from Tottenham, isn’t it? It just takes ages to get things done with Daniel Levy and once he’s [Pedro Porro] is in a Spurs shirt, I’ll believe it’s done. This is the problem with us.”

“Yesterday, it looked like it was off, I was pulling my hair out and then today, it looks like it’s going to happen.”

Jamie O’Hara went on to address why Pedro Porro makes sense as a signing for Tottenham, saying, “Look, he’s a good signing for us. He’s better than what we got and we actually need to start adding quality to the team that’s actually going to improve the 11 players on the pitch.”

“For me, Pedro Porro is better than [Matt] Doherty, he’s better than Emerson Royal. He’s a fantastic player and we have to get him over the line, which improves the team.”

Ultimately, much like any Tottenham fan, Jamie O’Hara would be happy to see a genuine attacking right wing-back walk in through the door.
