Michail Antonio has stated that both himself and Gianluca Scamacca ‘aren’t doing it’ after he was told that West Ham United are looking to bring in Moroccan striker, Youssef En-Nesyri during the January transfer window.
The West Ham forward added that ‘if they don’t want me’ or summer signing Scamacca, then they are going to ‘try and get somebody out’, as he told The Footballer’s Football Podcast.
Between them this season, the striker duo have scored five Premier League goals as David Moyes’ side hover above the Premier League’s relegation zone.

Antonio’s form was dipping towards the back end of last season and another forward option was needed, but it’s just not working for Scamacca either, whilst Jarrod Bowen’s goals have also dried out.
As a result, Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who was at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is a name linked with the club, although, he is yet to score for Sevilla this season, who are battling their own relegation in La Liga.
Nonetheless, when Antonio was asked about those En-Nesyri links by Newcastle United Callum Wilson, he issued the following response.
“I think West Ham are due to sign another striker, the Moroccan striker you have been linked with (En Nesyri),” said Wilson. “Do you think if he comes in then that’s your key to go or do you stay if he comes in and you compete?”
Antonio responded: “It’s a good question. You are trying to make me say something there. We are looking at other strikers because we aren’t doing it. Me or Gianluca, we both aren’t doing it.
“So, they are going to try and maybe bring someone else in. We see how it goes. In football, if they don’t want me, if they don’t want Gianluca, then they are going to try and get somebody out. If he comes in, then they might get somebody out. Or they might just want three options.
“This guy might come in and he might not do it, either – it’s all difficult, but as a professional, you have to deal with whatever comes your way. I want to play football and that’s all I care about.”

CHANGE OF MANAGER?
The issue with West Ham is that Moyes simply isn’t getting the best out of his attacking players and his style of play doesn’t suit one of the best players he has – Lucas Paqueta.
So, will there be a change of manager before the January window slams shut? Or will Moyes be backed all the way from the top?
Well, at the weekend, West Ham face off against Everton at the London Stadium, which might just signal the end for Moyes, if they were to lose against Frank Lampard’s men.
