Is Ferran Torres related to Fernando Torres? Many Arsenal fans have asked on Google after the Gunners opened talks with Barcelona.

Arsenal have decided to pursue their alternative options after missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea, with the Spain international now the subject of discussions – according to 90min.

Sky Sports believe Arsenal have also began talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a deal for Moussa Diaby – another player supporters have questions about as they ask whether he’s related to Abou Diaby.

For now, let’s focus on this – is Ferran Torres related to Fernando Torres? Let’s take a look…

No – Ferran Torres is not related to Fernando Torres.

Many have pondered if the pair are related in any way due to the fact they are both Spanish, and also share a surname.

Ferran Torres was born in Foios, Spain back in 29th February 2000, whereas Fernando Torres was born in Fuenlabrada on March 20th 1984 to parents José Torres and Flori Sanz.

Does Fernando Torres have a brother?

Some people believe Ferran Torres – who Barcelona paid £55.2m for – is the brother of Fernando Torres, but that is false.

Fernando Torres has two siblings, Israel and María Paz.

So, now that’s cleared up, let’s investigate the links between Arsenal and Ferran Torres.

This is certainly a deal that could materialise, as there is a lot of detail to unpack.

Firstly, Torres knows Mikel Arteta from their time together at Manchester City, where the 40-year-old coached the Spain international while working as Pep Guardiola’s assistant.

Additionally, Barcelona need to trim their wage bill to ease financial issues having already crashed out of the Champions League, so it would make sense to sell the 22-year-old given the fact he is far from vital under Xavi.

So far this season, Torres has made just six starts in La Liga – in all competitions, he has scored five goals across 22 appearances.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the Barcelona No.11 could be Arsenal’s Mudryk alternative.
