West Ham United want Terem Moffi and have now submitted an offer worth up to £25million, which was believed to be Lorient’s asking price.

That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that West Ham have now returned to the table with an offer for Moffi.

It’s stated that West Ham are now willing to pay £20million plus £5million in add-ons to bring Moffi to the Premier League.

The ball is now in Lorient’s court but the total package at least reaches what they were allegedly seeking for the Nigerian.

The Daily Mail reported last week that Lorient were demanding £25million for Moffi and that West Ham just couldn’t afford that.

Yet there now appears to have been a change of heart at West Ham with an offer now on the table that, if all add-ons are met, will give Lorient what they want.

Maybe West Ham couldn’t reach £25million up front but are willing to get their with additional clauses, and they will hope it’s enough to do a deal.

Who is West Ham United target Terem Moffi?

Moffi’s rise in the last few years has been nothing short of extraordinary.

At the end of 2019, Moffi was still playing in Lithuania having joined Riteriai from rivals Kauno Zalgiris earlier in the year.

20 goals in 29 games for Riteriai convinced Belgian side Kortrijk to swoop in and take a punt on the Nigerian striker.

Moffi scored five times in just 11 games for Kortrijk and that was that; his time with the club was swiftly over with Lorient snapping him up in October 2020.

The goals have continued to flow for Moffi, who has now racked up 35 goals in 90 games for Lorient, including 12 in 18 this season.

Hailed as a ‘nightmare’ for defenders by Kevin Hatchard, Moffi is now going to earn Lorient enormous profit wherever he goes.

Other Premier League clubs like Everton, Bournemouth and Southampton have been linked but West Ham now hope to win the race with their new offer.
