Ian Wright has stated that it does worry him if Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey or Bukayo Saka were to get injured following Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in the north London derby, as he told the Kelly and Wrighty Show on Premier League Productions (16/01/23 at 2:15 pm).
Mikel Arteta’s side, sitting at the top of the Premier League table, turned up to the backyard of their rivals and secured a comfortable 2-0 win, including a special long-range effort from Martin Odegaard.
Perhaps adding in Aaron Ramsdale, who was the Man of the Match yesterday, it could be argued that Odegaard, Partey and Saka are their side’s most important and in-form players right now.
Well, all of the above players cooked in north London yesterday, as Arsenal edging closer to possibly getting the champagne out and celebrating a Premier League title win in May because they are now eight points clear at the top.
Of course, there are still some major games to come, including on Sunday against Manchester United, as well as two fixtures against Manchester City.
Whilst those matches will worry some supporters, for Ian Wright, it’s the thought of losing their important players through injury.
“Anything happens to Odegaard, Partey or Saka,” said Wright. “Then I would be worried, even more so Odegaard because, at the moment, he is Player of the Season.”

That’s the domestic double for Arsenal over their bitter rivals and a sweet time to do it because they are sitting at the top of the league.

They will lose another game this season, it’s just the nature of the business, it’s all about how they react, and just like their defeat at Old Trafford at the start of the season, will they brush it off and go on a winning run again?
