Tottenham and Newcastle have now received a boost in their pursuit of Leandro Trossard.
What’s the story?
Well, Spurs have made contact with Brighton over a deal for the Belgium international – according to 90min.
Elsewhere, it was transfer specialist Dean Jones who revealed that Newcastle want to sign Trossard.
Now, there has been a significant update.
Speaking ahead of Brighton’s clash with Liverpool on Saturday, Roberto De Zerbi revealed that Trossard will not be part of the squad due to his poor attitude in training.
As quoted by Sky Sports, the Italian said: “Leandro isn’t in the list of the players for tomorrow. The last training session before the Middlesbrough game, when he understood he wouldn’t play, he left the session without saying anything to me and it’s not good.
“I don’t know about the transfer market, if he wants to change teams or not. It’s not my problem. I’m a coach, only a coach and the first eleven, while I am the coach, I will decide.”

It would seem Trossard is agitating for a move away from the Amex Stadium – in our view, at least.
The £15m man has arguably been Brighton’s best player this season, scoring seven goals while also providing three assists in 16 Premier League appearances, including a hattrick at Anfield.
Newcastle target Trossard would be a great signing for Tottenham
Whoever ends up winning the race for Trossard will be getting themselves a superb footballer – however, he would suit Tottenham more than he would Newcastle.
Why? Well, before leaving to join Chelsea, Graham Potter deployed Trossard as a left wing-back to great effect, with that exact position being one used by Antonio Conte at Spurs.
The Belgian can also operate anywhere across the frontline, so his chances of game time at Tottenham, who can also offer him the chance to play in the Champions League Knockout Phase this season, are strong.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as we expect more drama to follow.
