Why have Arsenal been charged by the FA? Many have been asking on Google after the Gunners were slapped with more disciplinary action.

The north Londoners were charged with improper conduct by the FA following their 0-0 draw against Newcastle in the Premier League on Tuesday 3rd January.

Now, the Gunners have officially been charged for the same offence following Monday evening’s 3-0 win over Oxford United in the FA Cup.

So, why have Arsenal been charged by the FA again? Let’s take a look…

Why have Arsenal been charged by the FA?

Well, this is bizarre.

The FA have again charged Arsenal for “failing to conduct their players in an orderly fashion” following an incident in the 34th minute against Oxford United.

However, the incident in question is something we see on a weekly basis from almost every football team on the planet.

As you can see below, the 34th minute under the spotlight simply involved Gabriel Magalhaes, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Mohamed Elneny and Kieran Tierney asking David Coote for a penalty.

The quartet had a case, as Lokonga’s shot hit the hand of Elliott Moore, although there was no VAR in use at the Kassam Stadium to check.

As you can tell by the seven-second footage, Arsenal’s players did not even appeal with much aggression.

More often than not, we see footballers get right up in the referee’s face as they scream for a decision to go their way, and that usually goes unpunished by the FA unless it truly crosses the line.

The Arsenal hard done by

There is no doubt about it – Arsenal have well and truly been hard done by.

In fact, we cannot believe the FA have charged Arsenal for such a minor incident.

It sets a dangerous precedent across England – similar incidents are bound to happen across the Premier League this weekend, and if the FA do not act on those as well, then Arsenal will have even more reason to be furious.

Whatever happens from this point on, Mikel Arteta must ensure his side do not let it affect them – the Spaniard needs to channel any anger his squad holds towards the FA into positive energy.
