Atletico Madrid think that Joao Felix‘s agent, Jorge Mendes, will hold talks with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal today, according to The Mirror.

Arsenal to hold talks with Jorge Mendes over Joao Felix today

The report has claimed that Manchester United have had a loan bid for Felix already turned down.

Arsenal wanted to sign the Portugal international forward in the summer of 2022 and remain keen on bringing the 23-year-old to the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window.

Former La Liga champions Atletico reportedly believe that ‘Mendes will hold further talks with the Gunners’ on Sunday.

The Express have reported that Arsenal want to sign Felix, who played at the 2022 Qatar World Cup and earns £250,000 per week as salary, on loan from Atletico in the middle of the season.

It shows that Arsenal are really serious about the 23-year-old, who can play as a forward, attacking midfielder or winger and has been described as “fantastic” and “excellent” by former Manchester United star Patrice Evra in The Mirror.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal do come up with a proposal that will be acceptable to Atletico.

The Gunners are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, and a player of Felix’s quality would enhance their chances of doing just that.
