Man City right-back Kyle Walker has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur do not have a winning mentality.
Playing for Tottenham from 2009 to 2017, Walker was a key cog at the club during their peak in the Premier League era under Mauricio Pochettino.
Despite the £45 million (BBC Sport) arguably being the best right-back in the league during a time where Spurs were excellent, he failed to take home a single piece of silverware.
Ever since joining Man City in 2017, however, Kyle Walker has made a habit of lifting trophies.
Winning 4 Premier League titles, 4 Carabao Cups and 1 FA Cup, Walker is a part of a side that is arguably the greatest club side in the country’ history.
The 32-year-old has touched on the major difference between City and Tottenham, as per his own personal experience.
Kyle Walker suggests Tottenham do not have a winning mentality

Man City defender Kyle Walker has hinted that Tottenham Hotspur do not have a winning mentality while reflecting on a personal memory.
“For me, a very important game was against Arsenal, when we won the first Carabao Cup [in 2018] because that was my first trophy.”
“That was a big change in my way of thought of ‘you know what, I can actually do that now.”
“I can actually go to games and win finals’ where I’ve been there and kind of just participated in them because teams that I played with or played for [such as Tottenham], we never knew really how to really have that winning mentality”, Walker said on Sky Sports (via Football Daily).
What Walker has said reflects so poorly on Spurs
Look, it’s impossible to quantify a player or a club’s winning mentality.
However, the fact that an ex-Tottenham Hotspur player such as Kyle Walker feels the club simply do not is an atrocious look for the club.
It’s high-time that Tottenham prove Walker and millions of fans, pundits and players wrong by finally winning a trophy under Antonio Conte.
