Liverpool have received a boost in their pursuit of Moises Caicedo after the midfielder interestingly changed his agent.
What’s the story?
Well, it was Goal who claimed that Liverpool are confident Brighton will sell the Ecuador international, who is valued at £50m.
Now, Romana reveals that Caicedo has teamed up with Manuel Sierra and Ali Barat as his new representatives, with the South American considering his future.
In our view, that certainly sounds as if the 21-year-old is planning to leave Brighton.
Caicedo has started 16 Premier League games for the Seagulls this season, and has caught the eye of Jürgen Klopp with some incredible performances in the middle of the park.
The Ecuadorian impressively averages 2.9 tackles per game in the Premier League, which showcases his solid presence ahead of the backline, while he is also a composed figure having registered a pass success rate of 88%.
Liverpool are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements amid a crisis in that department, and doubts over a place in the top four have intensified after Monday’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford.
Interestingly, Caicedo himself added some fuel to the fire after liking an Instagram post announcing that Cody Gakpo had joined Liverpool, which got supporters talking.
Liverpool face competition for Caicedo
If Liverpool are to sign Caicedo, they will seemingly need to fend off Chelsea.
Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports believes “there is a real sense” that the Blues will make an offer to Brighton for their industrial No.25 this month, and are prepared to pay the asking price.

Liverpool cannot afford to miss out, as Caicedo would be a tremendous solution to many of their issues in midfield.
Therefore, a tense transfer battle with Chelsea awaits – be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as there is still plenty of time remaining in the January window.
