Graham Potter’s Chelsea are now showing interest in Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are in pole position for, according to Calciomercato.
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Mudryk is a player Chelsea are now starting to look at, and that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could make a move for the winger in the January transfer window.
Arsenal are reportedly leading the race for the winger, described as “an exceptional talent” by former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton in The Daily Record in October 2022.
Chelsea or Arsenal for Mykhailo Mudryk?
In our opinion, Chelsea could be able to sign Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in the January transfer window if Arsenal do not pay the fee needed.
According to TEAMtalk, Shakhtar want £100 million in transfer fees for the winger.

Arsenal are not willing to pay that sum, although the Ukraine international winger himself is keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium and is trying to force a transfer.
Now, Mudryk may want to join Arsenal, but if Chelsea make a swoop in January and pay the transfer fee needed, then they could be able to show the winger that they want him more than Arsenal do.
And that could be a big factor.
