Arsenal fans have been given a glimpse into the potential future after footage of Mykhaylo Mudryk and Oleksandr Zinchenko playing for Ukraine emerged.
What’s the story?
Well, we say glimpse of the future as it seems the Ukraine international is on his way to Arsenal.
The Gunners are said to have opened talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over a deal for Mudryk, with Mikel Arteta and Edu hoping to complete the signing in January – according to the Evening Standard.
Interestingly, the 21-year-old has already revealed that he would like a move to the Emirates Stadium when being interviewed by Vlada Zinchenko, Oleksandr’s wife.
Therefore, it seems like Mudryk to Arsenal has a very real chance of happening this winter – however, Newcastle are also interested, according to iNews.
Now, supporters have been able to witness how the Shakhtar Donetsk No.10 may fit in under Arteta at the Emirates Stadium, as footage emerged showing Zinchenko and him playing on the left together for Ukraine, which you can see below.
It may only be a 17-second clip, but almost immediately, it looks like an attack Arteta would have coached on the training ground at London Colney.
Like Pep Guardiola has implemented at Manchester City, the Spaniard often tries to get his attackers to the byline at the Emirates Stadium, where they cut the ball back for a tap in as Mudryk does in the video.
It is safe to say that the Ukrainian wonderkid is absolutely rapid, and even if his finishing skills are a bit rusty in his first few months in north London, his remarkable pace alone will help the Gunners open sides up.
