Peter Bosz is eyeing up a move to La Liga after missing out on the Rangers job, speaking to Voetbal International while indicating that he held talks with Premier League strugglers Wolves in October.
Perhaps the negatives just outweighed the positives as far as Peter Bosz was concerned.
Formerly of Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon, the Dutchman’s CV reads like a who’s who of European powerhouses. Then again, Bosz’s reputation has drifted quite considerably since leading an embryonic Ajax team to the 2017 UEFA Europa League final, flopping at Dortmund before being sacked by Lyon after missing out on continental qualification altogether.

And while Bosz may be renowned for, to quote the man himself, ‘beautiful attacking football’, supporters of Lyon, Dortmund and co will tell you that the rough goes hand-in-hand with the smooth. Bosz’s teams score a lot. But they also concede almost as frequently.
Perhaps, with Wolves fearing relegation and with Rangers slipping further away from Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race, Bosz felt like a risk not worth taking.
Wolves chose Julen Lopetegui over Peter Bosz while Rangers opted for Mick Beale
The 59-year-old was sacked by Lyon in October following a run of four defeats in five matches. Bosz is now hoping to bounce back as soon as possible, while suggesting that La Liga could be his next destination.
“I think it will be a foreign club again. I’m in talks (with interested parties),” Bosz explains. “I think the footballers in Spain are the best fit for my style. But I would also like to work in the Premier League one day.
“The advantage there is that there is money to spend. And the manager is closely involved in signing players. And I know very well what type of football players I need within my philosophy.”
Bosz, The Telegraph say, held talks with Wolves two months ago. The men from Molineux eventually chose the more steadfast, defensively-minded Julen Lopetegui, however; some fearing that Bosz’s freewheeling style may not have been the best fit for a relegation battle.
“I have now spoken to two English clubs. But they were not the clubs playing at the top,” Bosz says, hinting at those Wolves talks.
“So I will have to adapt a lot first. Make sure you stay in (games) with a more compact way of playing. And then gradually find players to play attractive attacking football, with which you can be successful. Because that is always the goal.”
