Tottenham Hotspur want Malo Gusto but Manchester United are now interested in signing the Lyon right back in 2023.
That’s according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who claims that Gusto is a wanted man heading into the January window.
It’s clear that United are making a new right back a priority under Erik ten Hag.
Diogo Dalot has impressed this season but Aaron Wan-Bissaka is yet to play a single Premier League game and looks set to leave Old Trafford.
Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has been linked heavily but Lyon star Gusto is now an alternative target alongside Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries.
United’s interest in Gusto comes amid claims that Tottenham Hotspur are also pursuing the Frenchman, who Plettenberg claims will cost up to €40million (£34million).

Tottenham v United could become familiar battle amid Gusto chase
Gusto, 19, has become a key first-team player at Lyon having risen through the club’s ranks.
The teenager has bagged one assist in 14 games this season and has attracted major Premier League interest.
90Min reported in October that Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are interested in signing Gusto.
Now it’s Manchester United placing a keen focus on Gusto to solve their search for a right back.
Maybe we should get used too seeing Manchester United and Tottenham being linked with right backs.
We’ve already touched on the Red Devils’ need for one whilst Emerson Royal just isn’t cut out for the wing back role under Antonio Conte.
Both teams appear to fancy Dumfries and now like Gusto too.
Gusto may not be the finished product going forward but at just 19, he could be moulded into a star up the right flank.
Perhaps Tottenham will end up wanting Frimpong too, just to continue this pattern of the two teams going head to head over right backs.
