Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make a bid for Pedro Porro, a player Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City offloaded, according to Correio da Manha.

The report in the Portuguese publication has claimed that Tottenham are ready to pay the right-back’s release clause of €45 million (£39 million) in order to bring him from Sporting Lisbon to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window.

Would Pedro Porro be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Pedro Porro may have failed to make an impact at Manchester City, but that the defending Premier League champions signed the right-back from Girona in 2019 shows that they did actually rate him.

And we know that City do not sign players they are unsure of.

The Spain international right-back could not make an impact at the Etihad Stadium and did not even speak to City manager Pep Guardiola.

However, the 23-year-old, who is also play as a winger, flourished at Sporting Lisbon during his two-year loan spell and joined the Portuguese giants on a permanent basis in the summer of 2022.

Porro, who can also play as a wing-back, has given four assists in the Portuguese league and has provided one assist in the UEFA Champions League for Sporting so far this season.
