Liverpool winger Luis Diaz will undergo surgery tomorrow and will not play for Jurgen Klopp’s side again until March 2023, according to journalist Pipe Sierra on Twitter.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Diaz has suffered lateral collateral ligament injury in his knee and will undergo surgery tomorrow.
Sierra has added that the Colombia international winger – described as a “a tough opponent” by Everton’s Nathan Patterson in September 2022 – will return to action for Liverpool in March 2023.
The 25-year-old suffering a setback in his recovery from a knee injury at Liverpool’s training camp in Dubai, as reported by The Times.
The winger first sustained the injury in the defeat to Arsenal at the start of October following a challenge with Thomas Partey.
As reported by The Times, Liverpool had expected Diaz to be on the sidelines until January 2023.
However, according to Colombia-based journalist Sierra – who was the first reporter to break the 25-year-old’s move to Liverpool from FC Porto in January 2022 [EOTK] – the winger is now expected to return in March 2023.

Diaz has made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season.
The Colombia international winger has scored three goals and given two assists in those games.
The 25-year-old has also scored one goal in three UEFA Champions League games for the Reds so far this campaign.
