Ryan Babel has raved about reported Liverpool target and Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala on Twitter after watching him in action for Germany against Costa at the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Thursday evening.

Musiala, linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, was superb for Germany in their 4-2 win against Costa Rica in their final Group E match.

The 19-year-old drove the team forward, went close to scoring himself with a wonderful run, and was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park.

Germany went out of the World Cup despite the win.

But former Liverpool player Babel was impressed by what he saw from Musiala, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reported in October 2022 that that Liverpool are interested in signing Musiala as a back-up if they are unable to bring in Bellingham from Dortmund in the summer of 2023.

The £91,000-a-week (SalarySport) Germany international midfielder has made 12 starts and two substitute appearances in the Bundesliga so far this season.

Musiala has scored nine goals and given six assists in those matches.

The teenager has also given two assists in five UEFA Champions League games for the Bavarian giants so far this campaign.
