Speaking at Hyundai’s Goal of the Century sustainability campaign (via EuroSport), Steven Gerrard has been discussing Jude Bellingham ahead of the World Cup.
The England midfielder is set to be a key player in Qatar, and Gerrard says he can’t wait to see the teenager strutting his stuff on the biggest stage.
Interestingly, this comes not too long after Liverpool were credited with a strong interest in the Borussia Dortmund star, and now Gerrard has given his seal of approval to his former club.

Gerrard hails Bellingham
The Liverpool legend spoke highly of the youngster.
“The tournament is going to be littered with high-class players,” Gerrard said.
“Jude, I’m a massive fan of his. I think in the next 10 to 15 years, he’s going to become an England superstar.
“I love the midfield area now with [his] introduction. I really like our front half. I think the big challenge for England is whether we can find the right personnel and find the right partnerships in defence.”
Seal of approval
As if Liverpool needed any more convincing to sign Bellingham – their greatest-ever midfielder has just given him his seal of approval.
Indeed, if Steven Gerrard is saying that he loves you as a midfield player, then you must have something special about you.
Interestingly, Bellingham has been compared to Gerrard in the past, and if he goes on to become even half as good as the former England captian then he’ll be an incredible footballer.
Bellingham really could have his breakout performance at this World Cup and take the tournament by the scruff of the neck.
England supporters will certainly be hoping that Bellingham can live up to expectations in Qatar.
