Well, the Liverpool news isn’t all that optimistic at the moment.

Jurgen Klopp’s side slumped to a demoralising 2-1 defeat by Leeds United at Anfield last night and, in doing so, the Reds have now lost two successive Premier League games to outfits battling relegation.

Liverpool, who sit ninth in the Premier League, are simply not at the races and that includes a number of their players, particularly Fabinho.

The big Brazil international was hooked at the 60-minute mark by Klopp following another pretty ordinary display.

Fabinho, a £40 million signing in 2018 [Guardian], was guilty of being breezed past by a number of Leeds players, specifically in the first half.

And Jamie Carragher has compared the former Monaco powerhouse to a ‘ghost’.

He said on Sky Sports [29/10, 8:31pm]: “Fantastic from Leeds, going right through Liverpool’s midfield like they weren’t there. Fabinho was like a ghost, he went past him that easily.”

Paul Merson also highlighted Fabinho’s recent difficulties only this week.

It’s no secret that the big man is struggling and he’ll probably continue to do so unless he sorts himself out.

You could argue that the fact Fabinho is playing with different midfielders almost every week isn’t helping, but great players constantly adapt to their surroundings and therefore you’d expect the South American to do the same, no matter how difficult it is.
