Michael Beale has been quoted by the Evening Standard as commenting on links with Wolves and a return to Ibrox with Rangers – but said he is happy at Queens Park Rangers, after a speaking to director of football Les Ferdinand.
Beale, 42, is currently in his first role in senior management. Having spent time coaching at Liverpool, then in Sao Paulo in Brazil, and then with Steven Gerrard at Rangers and Villa – he joined Championship side QPR in the summer.
Since then, he has impressed. Despite a 3-1 loss to Luton on the weekend, QPR sit in a very impressive fourth place in the Championship table. Only a point of the leaders. After a third of the season, they look good for a top-six finish.
The Sun say Rangers are keeping tabs on a move to bring Beale back – with Gio van Bronckhorst under pressure. Meanwhile, The Telegraph claim Wolves have also been impressed by the QPR boss. But Beale has given his verdict.

“There has been a bit of noise but I had a really honest face-to-face conversation with [director of football] Les Ferdinand yesterday,” Beale said, as per the LES. “The club’s not had contact, I’ve not had direct contact either.
“At the moment, it’s my first job, I could not be happier with how things are going, with the owners, the staff, the players. What we’re building is something that really excites me. My focus is on that,” Beale said.
Beale comments on Wolves and Rangers links
The newly-appointed gaffer would be foolish to leave QPR at the moment. Especially, as he continues to impress in the role and guide QPR to a possible promotion push. At the end of the day, clubs are judging only on his 15 games.
He is yet to go through adversity, yet to tackle all types in football. A move to Wolves, who will be fighting to avoid a relegation scrap this season, will not be as dominant as QPR have been in the Championship. Rangers is huge pressure.
While he is well-liked at Ibrox and knows the club after his three years under Gerrard, it is too soon. At least, get a full year under your belt at Loftus Road before entertaining offers from other clubs. The grass is not always greener.
