Italian outlet CMW claim that Manchester City are not giving up in their pursuit of AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao despite recent reports of Tottenham and Chelsea interest – with Milan holding out for a huge fee of £86million.
Leao, 23, threw himself onto the radar of Premier League clubs after a wonderful 2021-22 campaign. The Portugal international had a hand in 26 goals during 42 games – scoring 14 and creating 12. His form has continued this term.
Chelsea have been regularly linked with Leao, and CalcioMercato claim this month they could offer a swap deal. Christian Pulisic and cash to sign Leao. Meanwhile, Fabio Cordella says Tottenham are certainly in the mix for Leao.
But the latest report from CMW says that Manchester City are not giving up in pursuit of Leao. The attacker already has four goals and eight assists in 13 games this season. A fee of at least £86million is required to sign the ex-Lille ace.

Manchester City not giving up in pursuit of Milan attacker Leao
Who needs him most – Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester City? Well, City are well-stocked in attack. Leao is the kind of player that can play anywhere across the front three – most-naturally, on the left. City have plenty of options.
But having lost Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, and with Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva’s future in doubt, Leao could be targeted. He would give City another top-class option in attack, and at 23, for many years in the future.
Tottenham have Son Heung-min on the left and he has shown up-and-down form this term. But he is crucial. Perhaps, Spurs lack the cover of their rivals. Chelsea also need another name in attack, especially if Pulisic goes.
So, all three could do with him. What is his best move? Leao probably stands his best chance of starting regularly at Stamford Bridge, but at 23, and under the guidance of Antonio Conte or Pep Guardiola, he may get even better.
