According to Bild, Todd Boehly now wants to bring Liverpool target Konrad Laimer to Chelsea in 2023.

Chelsea eye Liverpool target

Well, the Blues seem focused on hoovering up the best talent from the Bundesliga, specifically RB Leipzig.

Chelsea have already agreed a deal to sign Christopher Nkunku in 2023, while Bild claim that his teammate Josko Gvardiol is also set for a move to Stamford Bridge.

Now, Boehly wants to complete a triple raid on RB Leipzig by signing Laimer – who is valued at £25m – as well.

It comes after 90min claimed that Jürgen Klopp wants the Austria international at Anfield.

Laimer – who 90min also claim was recommended to Manchester United by Ralf Rangnick – has made a name for himself in German football with some tireless displays for RB Leipzig.

The RB Leipzig No.27 scored five goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances last season as the German side reached the Europa League semi-final.

Laimer sees his contract expire in 2023, so if RB Leipzig choose not to sell him in January, they risk losing the Salzburg-born midfielder for nothing.

Bild believe the Austrian has already turned down a new contract, which suggests he intends on leaving the Bundesliga side in 2023.

Liverpool have Konrad Laimer advantage over Chelsea

Interestingly, Liverpool might have a slight advantage over Chelsea in this transfer battle.

Speaking to Servus TV, Laimer revealed that he actually supports the Reds, and is also a fan of Premier League football.

The 25-year-old said: “I generally like watching the Premier League. I’ve always been a Liverpool fan.”

Therefore, it if does come down to a choice of Chelsea and Liverpool, Laimer would presumably choose to join the side he has always supported.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation going into 2023, as a deal in January is highly possible.
