Italian outlet CMW claim that Tottenham will pursue a £78million deal for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic if Harry Kane does end up joining Bayern Munich – with the Serbian potentially open to leaving the Old Lady amid their dismal form.

Vlahovic, 22, joined Juventus from Fiorentina despite being strongly linked with moves to the Premier League. It comes after scoring 49 goals in 108 senior appearances for La Viola. Even in 16 Serbia caps, Vlahovic has netted eight goals.

Tottenham were among those interested in Vlahovic in January, as well as Arsenal – but he joined Juventus. He has since scored 15 goals in 33 appearances for the Old Lady, laying on three assists. But Juventus are really struggling.

Max Allegri is under enormous pressure. Just three wins in nine games in Serie A, and only one from four in the Champions League – including a 2-0 loss to Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday night. Vlahovic though, is still scoring goals.

Indeed, he has six goals in 12 this season – an even-more impressive record given Juventus’ struggles. Kane recently said Bayern are a “top club”, and left the door open to a move. Spurs will have to replace him, obviously, if he goes.

Vlahovic would be a stunning signing for Tottenham – but of course, Spurs would much rather keep Kane. That is, even if Kane is seven years older than Vlahovic. He is of similar build, similar pedigree, similar traits. Maybe, slightly slower.

But at £78million, Spurs could even make a profit on Kane by selling him and signing Vlahovic. There is no suggestion that Kane is tempted by Bayern despite his comments, though. The report states that “Conte knows him well”.

Having watched him shine at Fiorentina and for his old club Juventus, there is no doubt Conte will be an admirer. But Tottenham will only look to sign him if they do end up selling Kane – as things stand, he might even sign a new deal.
