Tottenham Hotspur signed Destiny Udogie this summer and the wing back seemingly just couldn’t say no to Spurs.

Tottenham brought in an experienced left wing back by signing Ivan Perisic on a free transfer from Inter Milan.

Sergio Reguilon was then allowed to join Atletico Madrid on loan, but only after securing their left wing back of the future.

Ryan Sessegnon may end up being that player but Tottenham appear to have very high hopes for new signing Udogie.

Tottenham Hotspur signed Destiny Udogie

Tottenham swooped in to sign Udogie in a deal worth around £21million including add-ons, but sent him back to Udinese on loan for the season.

Fabio Paratici struck this summer in the belief that Tottenham may risk missing out on Udogie if they waited until next summer.

Tottenham really do think that Udogie can become a star of the future and left nothing to chance by striking a deal now.

Udogie, 19, has bagged two goals in six Serie A appearances this season, continuing to show outstanding attacking ability up the left flank.

The hope is that Udogie can end up replacing veteran Perisic down Tottenham’s left flank in the years to come.

Agent Ferdinando Guarino has now spoken to Spazio Inter about Udogie, admitting that Inter Milan and Juventus both held talks to try and sign the teenager.

Guarino added that the chance to join Tottenham was just too good to pass up and they had to ‘seize’ the offer despite interest from elsewhere.

It’s great to hear that Tottenham have that kind of pulling power, with a number of factors playing into that.

Tottenham have Champions League football, a superstar Italian manager in Antonio Conte and offer the chance to live and play in London.

Those factors will have surely been appealing to Udogie, and Tottenham fans likely can’t wait to see him in action when the 2023-24 season kicks off.
