Leicester City are reportedly looking to sign Inter Milan defender Robin Gosens, just eight months after the Germany international rejected a move to Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
According to FC Inter News, the Foxes are looking to sign the former Atalanta star in 2023, with the report stating that Leicester were close to landing Gosens two years ago, however, Brenden Rodgers’ side were unable to bring the 28-year-old to King Power Stadium.
Gosens has been one of the best wing-backs in Europe for the past two seasons with Atalanta, however, the defender’s reported €25m (£21m) move to Inter in January has not gone to plan, with injuries and a lack of form playing a cruel role in the winger’s time at the San Siro this year.
Despite Gosens’ obvious talents, Inter are already open to selling the wide player, with Bayer Leverkusen reportedly coming close to signing the German in the summer, however, the deal collapsed at the final hour, with Leicester now looking to pounce on the Nerazzurri star.

Newcastle fans will already be familiar with Gosens’ name after the transfer saga that involved the-then Atalanta star in January, with the Magpies seemingly coming close to signing the defender before the 28-year-old himself reportedly turned down the move to the English northeast, with Eddie Howe instead bringing in Matt Targett.
And now, Gosens could be heading to Leicester if the Foxes launch a bid in January to sign the versatile defender, with Rodgers in desperate need of some boost in quality in the squad after his side’s dreadful start to the new Premier League season.
Leicester signing Gosens could hint at return to right-back for Justin

Gosens is very much a left-sided player, with the German international enjoying his best football down that flank of the pitch and where the fullback has made his name in recent years, and Leicester signing the Inter star could hint at a return to right-back for James Justin.
The England international football has been used as a left-back at times since moving to Leicester, though should Gosens sign for the club in 2023, Justin will be allowed to move back to his best position with the Foxes adding a quality player down the left in a move that could bring new life to the club’s backline.
