According to the Daily Mail, Leeds target Ismaila Sarr is the No.1 choice to replace Wilfried Zaha at Crystal Palace, if he does depart.

What’s the story?

Well, the £71,000-a-week man was on the verge of joining Aston Villa a few weeks ago, before the move collapsed.

Now, Sarr could be joining Crystal Palace if Zaha ends up at Arsenal or Chelsea ahead of tomorrow night’s deadline.

It has been said that Chelsea are in talks over a move for the Ivory Coast international, while some sources claim that Arsenal could bid for the Crystal Palace No.11 before the window shuts.

Should Patrick Vieira lose his talisman, those at Watford will begin to sweat.

The Daily Mail believe Sarr has previously been targeted by Crystal Palace, although the south Londoners baulked at the £45m asking price.

However, the asking price has now dropped to a more reasonable £25m following Watford’s relegation to the Championship, a figure which is definitely reachable for the Eagles.

According to The Times, Crystal Palace have also submitted a £27m bid for Conor Gallagher, so there is money to spend at Selhurst Park.

Leeds could give Crystal Palace free run at Ismaila Sarr

In our view, Crystal Palace could benefit as Leeds also monitor PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.

It has been said that Leeds are interested in Sarr, although club owner Andrea Radrizzani has recently liked a post relaying the interest in Gakpo, adding fuel to the speculation.

The links to Gakpo are fresher than talk of a move for Sarr, so it is possible that Leeds are prioritising the Netherlands international and leaving the Senegal international as a backup option.

If that is the case, it would play into Crystal Palace’s hands, and give them a golden chance to get a deal for Sarr wrapped up ahead of the 11pm deadline tomorrow – be sure to keep an eye on developments.
