Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are worried that they will miss out on the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail have reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Neto from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers before the summer transfer window closes next week.

However, the Gunners ‘fear they might be priced out of a move this summer’ despite Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta insisting that there are no FFP issues, according to the report.

The Sun journalist Daniel Cutts reported this week that Arsenal are willing to pay £35 million for the 22-year-old winger, but Wolves want £50 million for the Portugal international.

Could Arsenal sign Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers?

In our view, Arsenal could struggle to sign Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers if they do not pay the £50 million transfer fee needed.

Now, of course, the youngster – described as “a really outstanding player” by former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood on Sky Sports News (12:57pm, September 25, 2021) – himself could be tempted by a move to Arsenal, but Wolves are a big and established club in the Premier League and will not sell their best players on the cheap.
