Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio says that Brighton striker Neal Maupay is currently undergoing a medical at Everton ahead of signing a three-year contract with the Toffees – and the option of a fourth season.
Maupay, 26, has spent the last three years at Brighton. Joining the club for £14million from Brentford, he has gone on to score 27 goals in 109 appearances for the Seagulls. But of late, he has fallen down the pecking order.
This season, the Frenchman has failed to play a single minute under Graham Potter. An unused sub against Manchester United and West Ham, he was missing from the matchday squad completely against Newcastle United.
Maupay has been linked with moves to both Everton and Forest this summer. Reports claim Brighton want to recoup the £14million they paid Brentford in 2019. Now, it appears Everton are close to bringing Maupay in.

Everton have desperately needed a striker. It seems the Toffees are about to get an influx of cash from the sale of Anthony Gordon to Chelsea – said to be £60million. Dom Calvert-Lewin remains on the sidelines with an injury.
Salomon Rondon has lead the line since, but the experienced Venezuelan is not seen as a long-term option. Everton have been keen to bring in a new striker. It now seems the tenacious Maupay will move to Everton.
For a fee far less than £20million, it is decent business for Everton. His 26 goals in 102 Premier League games is hardly encouraging, but he has only started 84 of those and completed 90 minutes just 55 times.
While it might not be the most-encouraging striker signing Everton fans might have hoped for, he fills a gap. He is proven in the Premier League and Lampard might be able to get the best out of him.
