Martin Terrier has been quoted over the weekend as saying that he will remain at Rennes this season amid reports a whole host of Premier League clubs want him – including Leeds United, Liverpool and West Ham United.

Terrier, 25, joined Rennes in 2020 and has since gone on to clock up 46 goal involvements in 85 games for the Ligue 1 side. It was last season that really saw Terrier burst onto the scene, netting 21 goals and laying on seven assists.

Reports claim that Leeds, Liverpool and West Ham are among those that want Terrier. L’Equipe claim that Rennes would want a figure in the region of £34million, which would be a record sale. More than Nayef Aguerd’s move.

As quoted by Inside Futbol over the weekend, after opening his account for the season in a 2-1 win over Ajaccio, Terrier commented on his future. He said: “I will be at Rennes this season. That is for sure and it is certain.”

Terrier will remain at Rennes: Leeds, West Ham and Liverpool want him

Clearly, Terrier is happy at Rennes and has three years left on his deal. But another good season with the French club, and he could decide to move next summer. Liverpool could do with another attacker after losing two this summer.

Both Divock Origi and Sadio Mane have left. Roberto Firmino is in the final year of his deal and as things stand, will go next summer. So, they could do with Terrier next summer. Leeds are still in the market for another striker or attacker.

West Ham have brought in Gianluca Scamacca but are said to want another striker. They could do with a bit more in the final third and a player like Terrier, who offers quality from out wide or up front, would be ideal.
