Celtic are closing in on Sead Haksabanovic with the Rubin Kazan ace potentially set for a medical with the Bhoys in the near future.

Ange Postecoglou can be pretty happy with Celtic’s transfer business so far this summer.

New faces have arrived with Benjamin Siegrist, Moritz Jenz, Alexandro Bernabei and Aaron Mooy all joining.

No key players have left the club and permanent deals were secured for Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota, so it’s all happy days at Parkhead.

That leaves Celtic in an opportunistic position in the final stages of the window, able to pounce if anything comes their way – and a new winger could be coming in.

Celtic are closing in on Sead Haksabanovic

Reports from the Daily Record earlier this week suggested that Celtic were considering a swoop for Rubin Kazan wide man Sead Haksabanovic.

They claimed that Rubin were ready to slash their asking price for Haksabanovic in an attempt to move him on this summer.

Celtic now appear to be nearing a deal for Haksabanovic with The Scottish Sun reporting that a medical could be conducted in London in the next 24 hours.

The report seems to suggest a permanent deal for Haksabanovic, with Rubin accepting a knockdown price for the Swede.

Rubin paid £6million just over a year ago for Haksabanovic having impressed in Sweden with IFK Norrkoping.

However, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine meant Haksabanovic was able to leave Rubin for a loan back to Sweden with Djurgarden.

Rubin have now decided to let Haksabanovic start afresh elsewhere and he wants to join Celtic after holding talks over a deal.

Haksabanovic, 23, hit 21 goals in 72 games for Norrkoping after a fairly uneventful three-year spell on the books at West Ham United.

The Montenegro international struggled to make the breakthrough at West Ham but showed his quality back in Sweden.

Celtic are now hoping to see that quality shine through in Glasgow, with Haksabanovic hoping to follow in the footsteps of Carl Starfelt in becoming a Swedish-born ace who thrives at Celtic after leaving Rubin.
