Celtic want Sead Haksabanovic and are back in the hunt for the Rubin Kazan ace after links over a move earlier this summer.

This has been another largely positive window for Celtic, who achieved a major task by securing Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota permanently.

There have been new faces signed too with Benjamin Siegrist, Alexandro Bernabei, Aaron Mooy and Moritz Jenz all arriving at Parkhead.

There may still be room for another addition or two before the transfer deadline though and a new rumour has emerged.

Celtic want Sead Haksabanovic

The Daily Record report that Celtic are once again considering a move to sign Rubin Kazan talent Sead Haksabanovic.

Sport Express in Russia reported earlier this summer that Rubin offered Haksabanovic to Celtic, but the Bhoys said no.

It’s now suggested that Rubin are slashing their asking price on Haksabanovic in the hope of offloading him.

Rubin may even be willing to send Haksabanovic out on loan, just over a year since paying £6million to sign him from IFK Norrkoping.

Celtic are now considering a move for Haksabanovic once again and could finally strike to bring him to Parkhead.

Haksabanovic, 23, may be familiar to some having joined West Ham United from Halmstads in 2017.

The Montenegro international failed to break through at West Ham though and after a loan to Malaga, returned to Norrkoping first on loan and then permanently in 2020.

21 goals in 72 outings for Norrkoping sparked Rubin’s interest and he secured his big move to Russia.

Yet after just 23 games for Rubin, Haksabanovic was loaned to Djurgarden in March due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Rubin are now ready to cut their losses and move Haksabanovic on, with Celtic weighing up a deal.

A left-sided winger who cuts in on his right foot, Haksabanovic could be signed as competition for Jota.

Celtic signed a Swedish ace from Rubin Kazan last summer in Carl Starfelt, so they could now repeat the trick by signing Haksabanovic.
