Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion talent Moises Caicedo, with Arsenal and Manchester United also interested in the Ecuador international.

90min claim that Jurgen Klopp’s side are interested in the midfield wonderkid, with Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, FC Barcelona and Juventus also joining the competition to sign Caicedo, with Arsenal, United and West Ham also reportedly interested in the 20-year-old South American.

As per the report, though, Brighton have no plans to sell Caicedo this summer, with the youngster only making ten Premier League appearances in his entire career as Graham Potter this season looks to bring the former Independiente del Valle star into the first-team fold after some careful career management.

Caicedo has started the first two games of the season for Brighton to much acclaim, and now, many of Europe’s biggest sides are interested in signing the youngster, with Liverpool part of the growing pack of clubs looking to recruit the Ecuadorian prospect.

Labelled by South American football expert Tim Vickery as a ‘terrific’ player, Caicedo looks set to become one of the breakout youngsters of the Premier League this season, and with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Erik Ten Hag’s United now all looking to sign the midfielder, Brighton could be set for another transfer war this summer.

The Seagulls have already sold Marc Cucurella for a reported club-record £63m to Chelsea, and following this sale, there’s no chance Brighton will allow Caicedo to depart the south coast club, even if a Liverpool can best the fee Potter’s side received for their former Spanish defender.

Caicedo is only at the start of his Brighton career, and whilst it’s easy to get swept up in the hype surrounding this promising midfielder, the Ecuador midfielder needs time to develop his game at a club where he is a guaranteed starter, something Liverpool can’t offer for the time being.

Indeed, Caicedo has the potential to one day become a player good enough to star in Liverpool’s midfield, but with the youngster only now becoming a regular for Brighton, the Reds should take their time when it comes to a potential move for the South American prospect.
