Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa and Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest are competing with Frank Lampard’s Everton for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Foot Mercato.
Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest eye Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele
The report in the French news outlet has claimed that Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Everton are the clubs from the Premier League who are keen on signing the France international midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Marseille, Real Betis, Villarreal, Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan, Napoli and Galatasaray are also interested in the 25-year-old Tottenham midfielder, described as “unbelievable” and “frightening” by former Spurs right-back Kieran Trippier (now at Newcastle United) on The Beautiful Game Podcast in July 2022.
Foot Mercato have added that Napoli and Villarreal are leading the race for Ndombele, adding that both want to sign the Frenchman on a loan deal with an option to buy next summer.

Could a transfer happen?
In our view, Tanguy Ndombele is unlikely to fancy a move to Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.
Ndombele is used to playing for clubs who compete for the UEFA Champions League places, and at 25, he still has a lot to give.
The best years of the Frenchman is ahead of him, and we do not think that he would be keen on moving to Forest, who could be involved in a relegation battle this season.
Yes, Villa are a big and established club in the Premier League, but the Villans are unlikely to challenge for the European places.
