Leeds United want Che Adams and Southampton are now willing to sell the striker before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Whites have been very busy this summer, bringing in a raft of new signings to bolster Jesse Marsch’s squad.
The exits of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips meant Leeds had to go and get business done and Marsch will be mostly happy with the work so far.
Leeds still need more signings before the transfer window shuts and a new striker will be a priority for Marsch and Victor Orta.
Patrick Bamford needs support in attack and the likes of Arnaud Kalimuendo and Mergim Berisha have both been linked of late.
Leeds United want Che Adams
There is a target closer to home though with Leeds once again looking into signing Southampton striker Adams.
The Sun reported last weekend that Leeds are hoping to sign Adams in a deal worth around £10million – £5million less than the fee Southampton paid for Adams in 2019.
That fee surely won’t be happening but Leeds wanting Adams is no huge surprise.
Back in January 2020, Leeds wanted to take Adams on loan from Southampton with Victor Orta pretty much admitting that a deal fell through because Adams had an encouraging performance for the Saints against Leicester City.
The Athletic now report that Southampton are willing to offload Adams this summer.

Adams was an unused substitute in Southampton’s 4-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday and Ralph Hasenhuttl is seemingly prepared to let him go.
That’s great news for Leeds, who may now feel that the door is open for them to finally bring Adams to Elland Road after all.
The 26-year-old is a nuisance with his work rate and athletic qualities, whilst Ally McCoist has hailed Adams as ‘terrific’.
Adams may not seem like a natural goalscorer at times but 16 goals and eight assists across his last two Premier League campaigns shows that he can make an impact.
Adams being Premier League-ready may also attract Leeds to him over the likes of Kalimuendo, Berisha and others.
