The Bhoys have secured their main goal this summer by keeping loanees Daizen Maeda, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota permanently.
Ange Postecoglou has also been able to bring in new faces too, with Benjamin Siegrist, Moritz Jenz, Alexandro Bernabei and Aaron Mooy all arriving.
Celtic may still have room for another signing though, and the Bhoys are now looking to Spain for their next recruit,
Celtic want Alex Collado
Sky Sports report that Celtic fancy signing Alex Collado and have now lodged an enquiry into signing the Spanish talent.
It’s added that Celtic do face competition though as Greek giants Olympiacos are also keen on signing Collado this summer.
Collado, 23, has come up through the ranks with Barcelona having joined from local neighbours Espanyol back in 2010.
A regular for Barcelona’s B team, Collado has racked up 18 goals in 83 games for them.
That hasn’t really translated to first-team action though as Collado has only played twice for Barcelona’s senior team.
Collado had enough of that life last season and joined Granada on loan for the second half of the campaign.
With two goals and one assist in 17 games for Granada, Collado did once again show his potential.
It’s now time for Collado to leave Barcelona permanently, and his versatility will surely appeal to Celtic.
Collado can play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, winger or even as a striker if needed, with his technical ability giving him the freedom to impact the game from a host of areas.
Celtic may well feel that Collado’s flexibility is ideal for Postecoglou’s attractive side, and this interest comes just two years after the Bhoys entered the race to sign Collado in the first place, with a move finally in the works.
