According to The Scottish Daily Mail (23/09, back page and p86), Celtic are pursuing a deal for Barcelona talent Alex Collado.
It’s claimed that Celtic want to land the Barcelona B talent, as he is one of a number of fringe players Barcelona are prepared to offload.
Collado is currently injured, but is working his way back to fitness and Celtic recruitment chief Nick Hammond is now keen to win the race.
Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Celta Vigo, Genoa, Sassuolo, Torino, Stuttgart, Werder Bremen and Hertha Berlin are all thought to be interested in Collado, in what is a crowded race for his signature.
Celtic are keen to win that battle though, and Collado is likely to make a final decision on his next destination when he is fully fit.
Collado, 21, has come up through the Barcelona ranks and predominantly plays as a right-sided winger, though he is left-footed.

The Spaniard impressed for Barcelona B last season with five goals and five assists in 24 games, and Celtic have seemingly spotted his potential.
With Barcelona keen to sell and Celtic interested in a deal, it could be ideal for all parties – but the Bhoys are just one of 10 teams battling for his services.
