West Ham United are offering £13 million for Feyenoord’s Eredivisie stalwart Marcos Senesi in what could be a timely boost for Premier League rivals Fulham, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
Given how many clubs have been scouring the market for left-footed central defenders this summer, it seems a little odd that Senesi hasn’t really entered the conversation until the final month of the window.
But after losing Nayef Aguerd to an ankle injury – the Moroccan underwent surgery recently – Senesi appears to have a market at last.
West Ham are reportedly willing to dish out £13 million for Feyenoord’s 25-year-old Argentina international. Roma, Napoli and Fiorentina are also keen, alongside Bournemouth. But West Ham appear to be the only club to turn their initial interest into something more concrete.
Rotterdam-based publication 1908 back up these claims, saying that the Hammers have ‘officially reported’ for former San Lorenzo starlet Senesi.
Marcos Senesi in, Issa Diop out for West Ham United?

“Marcos is a strong player,” Danilo Caravello, Senesi’s agent, said a couple of weeks ago. “The big obstacle remains the price tag, as dealing with the Dutch is never easy.
“Senesi is a player that many teams pay attention to. But, in the end, nothing ever materialises. Either the economic solution is not found, or there is not all a desire to sell him.”
“Surely, if the English clubs want him, they’ll get him. They have a higher economic power than the other leagues.”
David Moyes will obviously expect Senesi to keep the ball out the back of the net in claret-and-blue. His exploits at the other end of the pitch have caught the eye at Feyenoord, however, with Senesi putting together something of a personal Goal of the Season competition during the 2020/21 season.

But where do Fulham come in?
Well, a Cottagers side crying out for central defensive reinforcements saw talks with West Ham’s Issa Diop stall after Aguerd found himself on the treatment table in July. Moyes, it seems, was unwilling to let Diop go until a replacement arrived.
Now, if Senesi is on his way, Fulham could finally get the green light.
