Tottenham could reportedly sign Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus this summer with scouts currently watching the Ghana ace – a player that Erik ten Hag once said is “very active and dynamic” and “great to watch”.
Kudus, 22, joined Ajax in the summer of 2020 from Norwegian side FC Nordsjaelland for a fee of £7.5million. Since then, he has clocked up 43 appearances in all competitions – having a hand in 10 goals, scoring six himself.
The 16-time Ghana international played under Erik Ten Hag during his first two years at Ajax. He has a contract at Ajax until the summer of 2025, but it appears that Tottenham now want to sign him – and have been scouting him.

That is according to a report this week, who claim Spurs would be open to bringing him in this summer. They would also be open to his signing next summer. A player that Manchester United man ten Hag once raved about.
“He’s great to watch,” ten Hag told FOX Sports in 2020. “He is very active and dynamic and can play with very high intensity. When Kudus gets the ball, he often does something good with it. He was also good defensively.”
Tottenham could sign Kudus: Ten Hag said he is ‘great to watch’
Do Tottenham need him? They could do with depth in midfield. One massive plus in regards to Kudus is that he can play anywhere in the middle – as a holding midfield, box-to-box or as a 10. So as cover, he would be a good signing.
But he would struggle to get into the side. Antonio Conte does not play with a 10 in his 3-4-3 system, which might have been the reason for not making an actual offer for new Manchester United and ten Hag signing Christian Eriksen.
However, Spurs are likely to wave goodbye to Harry Winks and given Oliver Skipp’s injury issues of late, another option in midfield might be helpful. Kudus would be happy to sit on the bench. It all depends on the price.
