Italian outlet CMW claim Tottenham are considering an audacious swap deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes – by sending Japhet Tanganga to Christopher Galtier’s side in return.
Tanganga, 23, has dropped down the pecking order since Conte’s arrival. While injury has not helped, the Englishman is likely to go – especially after the defensive signings of Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence. Davinson Sanchez remains.
He was expected to go to AC Milan, but a move has stalled. Now, he could end up at PSG – with Tottenham keen to bring Argentina international Paredes to North London. PSG value their midfielder in the region of £17million.

Paredes, 28, is a 44-time Argentina international and has already clocked up 113 PSG appearances since joining the club in January 2019. Spurs are keen to bolster their midfield ranks with Cristian Romero’s international teammate.
The report states that Tanganga has interest from both Milan sides, while Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici’s old side Juventus are keen on Paredes. But Spurs and PSG could come to their own arrangement, for Paredes and Tanganga.
Tottenham considering Tanganga and Paredes swap deal
A couple of weeks ago, you would argue Tottenham do not need another midfielder. They even left Harry Winks at Hotspur Way while the squad jetted off to Korea and Israel. Winks looks as if he is being shunned out.
But Oliver Skipp has suffered a fracture in his foot – his luck not getting any better. So, Conte might be tempted to add a midfielder given Winks is likely to go and Skipp’s injury issues. Paredes certainly fits the mould of his midfielders.
However, the issue is that while Paredes would be joining without the need to spend cash – his wages would be large. He would not start, so he would certainly be an expensive addition to the bench. A good player, though.
