As far as Arsenal transfer news is concerned, there’s been a lot for Gunners’ supporters to feast on this summer.
So far, the North Londoners have spent £120 million across five different players, with a £45 million deal to sign Gabriel Jesus representing their most-expensive deal of the window.
Speculation is rife that Arsenal could add another midfielder to the ranks, specifically Youri Tielemans of Leicester City.
But the Emirates Stadium outfit might regret not going for Renato Sanches.
Last summer, Arsenal could’ve had the Portugal international for £35 million [Gazzetta Dello Sport].
However, the Italian publication claims that those in charge in North London were refusing to pay that figure.
Fast forward a year and Sanches is about to join Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Foot Mercato, he has arrived in the French capital ahead of signing for the Ligue 1 champions.
And for Arsenal’s sake you would hope that he doesn’t become a world-class midfielder.
Remember, the Gunners could’ve had him for £35 million – the same figure they spent on Granit Xhaka six years ago, and £10 million less than they spent on Thomas Partey.
It isn’t a massive figure but with Sanches only being 24, he could be worth an absolute fortune in the coming years if he dazzles in the same XI as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
And then you might find Arsenal supporters questioning Mikel Arteta and Edu for not taking the punt on him 12 months ago.
